Hey friends. Welcome back! This week, we’re diving into a reflection on taking breaks, the fruits of silence, and the journey towards embracing imperfections. If you’re new here, I’m Mari Wagner, and this is The Ever Be Podcast—where faith meets lifestyle in genuine, real-life conversations.
Unplugging from Social Media
First up, let’s chat about the week I took off from social media. Initially, the thought of stepping away was uncomfortable, especially given how intertwined it is with my work. But, taking that break turned out to be more rewarding than I could have imagined. It allowed me to reconnect with silence and realize how much noise I’d been living with.
The Power of Silence
During this period, I discovered the richness that comes from stepping back. I engaged in leisurely activities I hadn’t made time for in ages—like painting and reading a life-changing book, The Heart of Perfection by Colleen Carol Campbell. This book opened my eyes to how perfectionism had shaped my life and how God is inviting me to trade my imperfect dream for His perfect plan.
Learning from Saintly Wisdom
The book includes inspiring stories, like that of St. Jane Frances de Chantal, whose transformation through receiving guidance with gentleness resonated with me deeply. It echoed my own journey towards embracing gentleness and patience, qualities I’m learning to cultivate with the Holy Spirit’s help.
Silent Retreat Insights
My one-day silent retreat was an unexpected blessing. Though driven by my typical “solve-it-now” mindset, it became a lesson in patience and trust in God’s timing. The day unfolded without a structured plan, simply leading to deeper peace and stillness as I basked in God’s love and took in the beauty around me.
Upcoming Summer Break
After reflecting and seeking God’s guidance, I’ve decided it’s time for a podcast pause over the summer. This break will allow me to refresh and rebuild The Ever Be Podcast. I’m excited about what’s to come and can’t wait to share new and exciting content with you in September.
Staying Connected
In the meantime, I’d love to hear from you. Share your favorite episodes, topics you’d like covered, or any ideas you’d like to see. You can reach me on Instagram @EverBePodcast.
Remember, this isn’t goodbye—just a little break. I hope you’ll continue to draw inspiration from our past episodes and find something meaningful in each listen. Thank you for your love, support, and journeying alongside me.
Until we meet again, be gentle with yourself, embrace the silence, and trust God’s perfect plan for you. I love you all, and I’ll talk to you soon!
