Road Trips, Friendship, and Family Celebrations: Our Latest Adventures
Hello, dear readers! It’s your host, Mari Wagner, from The Ever Be Podcast, where faith meets lifestyle. Lately, life has been a beautiful whirlwind of travel, celebrations, and deepened friendships, and I’m so excited to share it all with you. So grab your favorite drink, get cozy, and let’s dive in!
The Hair Debacle and Washington Adventures
Let’s start with a little hair talk—because, honestly, who hasn’t struggled with a bad hair day? This time, Trey and I were both in the trenches, navigating new hairstyles and laughing at the unexpected challenges they brought. It’s the little, everyday moments like these that remind me to embrace the humor in life.
But the real reason for our trip was much bigger—celebrating my dad’s 50th birthday in Washington! It was such a special time with family and friends, made even better by a Colombian DJ who kept the party alive with salsa music. And yes, there was a dance floor dispute with the event coordinator, but don’t worry—we won that battle.
A Month of Meaningful Friendships
March has been an absolute whirlwind in the best way, filled with moments that reminded me just how important good friendships are. I finally got to host my “Instagram girls”—Megan, Melissa, and Claire—who have become some of my closest friends over the years. Meeting in person after so many virtual chats was incredible. We laughed, we shared our hearts, and we soaked in the beauty of authentic, God-centered friendships.
Later in the month, my best friend from Nebraska came to visit, bringing with her all the nostalgia and warmth of a lifelong friendship. Celebrating her birthday made our time together even sweeter, and I was once again reminded how blessed I am to have such incredible women in my life.
Home Design Dreams Coming to Life
Amidst all the travel, our home projects have been moving full speed ahead! Right now, we’re working on our pantry and kitchen, carefully choosing cabinet colors and countertops. One of the highlights? Visiting a natural stone warehouse in Denver. Seeing the intricate beauty of each slab—the patterns, the details, the uniqueness—was such a powerful reminder of God’s artistry and creativity.
I truly believe that creating a home is about more than just aesthetics. It’s about cultivating a space that brings joy, peace, and functionality to daily life. I can’t wait to share the final results with you all soon!
Lent: A Season of Growth
In the midst of everything, Lent has been a grounding force. I decided to give up screens after 8 P.M. to reclaim my evenings and focus more on prayer, reflection, and presence. I also committed to attending daily Mass, and let me tell you—it’s been transformative.
There’s something so beautiful about stepping into the quiet of Mass each day, offering up small sacrifices, and leaning into God’s presence in a deeper way. Trey and I have found so much peace in this season, and it’s been a gift to walk through Lent with more intention.

I hope these little glimpses into our life bring a smile to your face and encourage you to find joy in your own everyday moments. Life is a beautiful tapestry of small adventures, deep friendships, and moments of faith, and I’m grateful to share it with you.
